Born in a basement in 1981, Big Bike Parts (BBP) has grown from a humble startup to a leading manufacturer of aftermarket motorcycle parts and accessories, serving riders worldwide. Today, BBP leads the Gold Wing, Three Wheel, and Cruiser markets for accessories and covers and has even launched two additional bike brands, Show Chrome and UltraGard.

Despite its success, BBP faced challenges with its initial Adobe Commerce site and sought to revamp its online presence with a new eCommerce agency. Adobe Commerce Project Not Going To Plan

Launching its eCommerce site on Adobe Commerce in January 2023, Big Bike Parts found itself at a crossroads, grappling with a number of challenges that hindered its digital progress. Confidence in its former agency had waned as deadlines were missed, and engineering capabilities fell short of expectations. Troubleshooting and bug fixing became a regular occurrence, making it difficult for the site to remain stable and more importantly, grow. 

Outdated Adobe Commerce Version Left BBP Vulnerable

The site was also operating on an unsupported version of Adobe Commerce, which added an additional layer of complexity and risk. With a new version of Adobe Commerce on the horizon, BBP faced the potential threat of being left unsupported and vulnerable to potential site crashes.

The stakes were high, and the pressure to provide a timely site upgrade was critical. Moreover, BBP encountered a number of technical obstacles, undermining its efforts to leverage Adobe Commerce effectively. These challenges manifested in distorted images on the homepage sliding banner, performance issues, and an inability to make simple formatting updates on the frontend.

Unfinished MyGarage Part-Finder Needed Restructuring and Completion

Another key challenge BBP faced revolved around the refinement of its core feature, My Garage — a custom part finder and vehicle-tracking tool for customers. At the time, My Garage was only partially built and not fully functional. With data inconsistencies on the back end, the feature needed extensive restructuring and a comprehensive overhaul to enhance usability and ensure functionality across two disparate themes.

Not only did this enable Kadro to quickly spin up the new Ravek site, but it also provided BBP with centralized management of catalogs and customers across both brands.
