Connect Hearing, headquartered in Chicago and a fast growing division of Sonova, is the world’s leading provider of innovative hearing healthcare solutions.  Connect Hearing operates multiple brands, including HearingPlanet and its eCommerce website, to provide a personalized hearing evaluation and consultation to find the ideal hearing aid solution. 

HearingPlanet is passionate about helping people by giving the gift of hearing for more than 17 years.  With the development of a nationwide network of Hearing Care Professionals and Local Clinics, HearingPlanet is ready to assist their customers with specific hearing needs and care.  

HearingPlanet provides highly trained Personal Hearing Professionals who will learn their clients challenges and answer questions to help provide the assistance one needs to better their hearing.  After an evaluation, they can then set up an appointment with one of the convenient Endorsed Local Clinics nationwide.  The HearingPlanet storefront also provides hearing education, hearing aids, and accessories readily available to customers  online.

Kadro was hired to match the functionality of the former HearingPlanet website while integrating  into the various backend systems within HearingPlanet for handling shipping and fulfillment of orders.  The biggest hurdle encountered was the timeline of only 2 months to migrate from an outdated ecommerce system to Adobe Commerce Cloud. HearingPlanet is part of a global brand that requires a standard of quality for all development and 3rd party modules. Kadro had to account for a much larger solution in the future involving multiple global brands and more in depth integrations.   Future phases will include the secure storage of HIPAA-related audiogram files, the purchasing of the hearing aid devices themselves, and scheduling appointments at hearing aid stores.

Kadro was able to achieve the following objectives with the deployment of the new HearingPlanet website:

• Prioritize and focus on specific requirements and provide a proper MVP (minimal viable product) solution.
• Kadro, along with HearingPlanet, did a great job of maintaining scope and communicating on all issues, which allowed us to maintain the timeline, budget, and all deliverables.
• Custom integrations added to their ERP/shipping system with focus on orders and shipments.
• Kadro recreated their design based on native Magento Luma, which increased performance
