University Co-op Program
Work on career-building real world web development projects.
Kadro is a proud participant in the Cooperative Education Program at NC State University. University-sponsored Cooperative Education programs allow students to work multiple work- terms in a relevant field to their major to gain firsthand experience in the workforce.
Kadro routinely maintains 5-6 Computer Science co-op students on rotation during each of the Spring, Summer and Fall terms. It has proven to be a mutually beneficial experience for both Kadro and the co-op student.
Experience and Qualifications
Kadro is full of intelligent, passionate professionals that are eager to teach you. As a co-op, you will get hands on, concrete experience working on every part of development from the database to the front-end. While working on a collaborative team, you will advance your skills alongside other co-ops and your mentors.
Kadro Co-op’s are never assigned busy work. They are seen as a valuable member of the team right off the bat, and are assigned projects that will be seen in production. During your rotation you will have the opportunity to learn a large range of topics, such as:
- HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery
- Java, PHP
- SQL
- eCommerce Platforms
- Responsive Web-Design
- Git, CVS
Working as a Co-op

The culture at Kadro is fun and welcoming. It’s not hard to feel like you belong as everyone is quick to accept you as part of the team. When the weather is nice, the team takes a break to play Ultimate Frisbee at a local Raleigh park. You will enjoy company lunches and parties. The team stays knowledgeable on the most modern technologies through training meetings and Lunch-and-Learns, where the whole company gets together for lunch and a presentation about a specific topic.
What Co-ops are Saying

Everything I have learned at Kadro has helped me with my senior design project and is directly benefiting me in both my understanding and capability when creating new responsive and dynamic web pages.
Being able to experience multiple languages and parts of web page development has allowed me to understand the processes it goes through and lets me see what I work best with and what I enjoy most. Kadro is eager to teach and does well to try and understand your strengths and weaknesses to make you better prepared for the work force.
Working as a co-op at Kadro has probably been the best academic decision I have made during my time at NC State. I have seen huge improvements in my skills both in school and at work, even after just my first co-op rotation. As I am completing my third rotation and looking towards graduation, I feel confident that I have been prepared for a full time job in this field.
